Private Chat and image review

Video compression, audio extraction, photo compression, Album Cleaner and Private Vault media processing run locally, without cloud compression. Local tools do not require a chat account. Private Chat uses a separate identity: text messages use OpenMLS end-to-end encryption; recipient images use AES-GCM attachment ciphertext and MLS metadata ciphertext. Each chat image also has a separate moderation copy decryptable by an isolated review service. Authorized reviewers can inspect individual cases, with access and actions recorded in an audit trail. This moderation copy is not end-to-end encrypted solely between the communicating users.

The edge gateway uses the connection IP only for per-IP request rate limiting, concurrent-connection security controls and abuse prevention. The corresponding rate-limit state is held in Nginx shared memory: connection counts are released when the request or connection ends, request-rate states are evicted on a least-recently-used basis when the zone needs to reclaim capacity, and in-memory state disappears when the Nginx instance stops. Chat routes disable access logs and remove standard IP-forwarding headers before proxying to the chat service; the chat database and chat-service logs do not store the connection IP. Other Nginx or host error/security logs may still record it. Their actual fields and retention have not been verified and remain a separate gate before chat-image sending can be enabled; the disclosure must then be updated to match the evidence. The connection IP is not used for advertising tracking. Chat servers process numeric user IDs, public keys, the contact graph, message senders and recipients, routing and delivery times, image dimensions and digests, moderation cases, bans, authentication and security audit metadata for communication and content safety. Recipient image ciphertext is cleared after download acknowledgement or seven days. Pending, rejected or failed review copies are retained for a configured period of up to thirty days. Approved review copies are removed in the decision transaction unless held. A legal hold overrides these periods until authorized release. Case and audit metadata are retained separately and are not automatically removed by image cleanup.

Provider copy deletion is attempted through durable jobs and can fail or be unsupported; database content deletion does not prove backup erasure. Local history and the system Recently Deleted area have separate lifetimes. New chat-image sending is currently unavailable. Before activation, we will identify the actual review provider, purposes, regions, retention and deletion rules and obtain the required explicit permission before sharing. Text does not enter image review. These data are not used for advertising tracking. Effective Date: September 10, 2026.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to the iOS and Android versions of Aiwei Video Compressor. The app is intended for users worldwide where it is made available through official app stores.

3. Video, Audio, and Image File Processing

  1. Video compression, preview, saving, MP3 audio extraction, and image compression are performed locally on your device by default.
  2. Local compression does not upload selected media files.
  3. We do not provide cloud video compression or cloud audio extraction.
  4. We do not collect local media file paths.
  5. You decide whether to save or share processed results through system capabilities.
  6. When you actively use Album Cleaner, the app reads media type, creation date, favorite state, album membership, and optional embedded location metadata only for organization and review that you initiate. To display embedded coordinates as city and district names, the iOS version sends coordinate values to Apple's Core Location system geocoding service. It does not send media files, thumbnails, local paths, media IDs, or action history to that service and does not read your device's current location. Apple processes those coordinates under its privacy policy. Favorite, album membership, and deletion actions are sent only to the system photo library. Album Cleaner does not upload media, paths, thumbnails, metadata, gesture history, or action history to developer servers. Deletion requires your in-app confirmation and the operating system photo-library confirmation; deleted media may remain recoverable in the system Recently Deleted area according to the platform.

Except for coordinate values sent on demand to Apple's system geocoding service as described above, Album Cleaner session media metadata, media IDs, paths, thumbnails, location metadata, and session action or deletion history are not transmitted externally or persistently stored. They are used only in memory for the current session. They are cleared when you explicitly abandon the session, and when the app process is cleared. The only gesture preference stored locally maps direction to action; it contains no media ID, path, content, or location and can be reset to its defaults.

4. Information We May Collect

Local tools do not require a chat account. Private Chat uses a separate numeric identity. The app does not integrate backend analytics, advertising, in-app purchases, or third-party analytics services. To provide basic features, the app may process the following information locally on your device or through the system destination you choose:

  1. Media file information, such as file size, duration, resolution, bitrate, codec, audio track status, and image dimensions, used to calculate processing parameters and show results locally.
  2. Local settings, such as language choice and privacy consent status, stored only on your device.
  3. Feedback content, only if you actively choose Feedback and send it through Mail or another destination from the system share sheet.

5. Local-tool exclusions; chat processing is described separately

Local compression does not upload the following information; Private Chat processing is described separately:

  1. Actual video files.
  2. Local video paths.
  3. Contacts.
  4. Your device's current precise location. Embedded media coordinates are handled only when you actively choose location grouping as described above.
  5. Microphone content.
  6. Camera content.
  7. Accounts, phone numbers, membership status, or purchase records.
  8. Visual, audio, person, face, or identity information contained in video content.

6. Permissions

  1. After you accept this Policy, the app requests photo or video library access only when you explicitly use a feature that needs it, such as video or image compression, audio extraction, entering or using Album Cleaner, or importing into Private Vault. It does not request this access automatically on Home.
  2. Media library write capability is used when you save compressed videos to the system media library.
  3. System sharing is used only when you actively share a compressed video or send feedback.
  4. On Android, media location metadata access is requested only when you actively choose location grouping in Album Cleaner, to read location embedded in media; the app does not read your device's current location.
  5. On Android, system or media components may use normal permissions such as network state access or wake locks to keep local processing and system sharing stable.

The app does not upload selected videos. You can manage permissions in iOS or Android system settings. Disabling permissions may make related features unavailable.

7. Third-Party Services

Apple Core Location is used only when you actively choose location grouping, to resolve embedded media coordinates into city and district names. No media file, thumbnail, path, media ID, or action history is sent for this purpose.

The app uses system sharing capabilities and the share_plus technical component to invoke the system share sheet. After you choose a sharing destination, the selected third-party app processes data according to its own rules.

The first version does not integrate Umeng, Firebase Analytics, ads, real in-app purchases, Firebase Crashlytics, Sentry, remote config, feedback submission APIs, or compression record reporting services.

8. How We Use Information

  1. To provide local compression, saving, and sharing features on your device.
  2. To let you send feedback through the system share sheet when you choose to do so.
  3. To meet legal, regulatory, or platform review requirements.

9. Retention

  1. Local settings such as language choice and privacy consent status are stored on your device and can be removed by deleting the app or clearing app data through system settings where available.
  2. Feedback emails are sent and stored by the Mail or sharing destination you choose. If we receive your feedback email, we retain it only as needed to handle the issue.
  3. Chat servers retain necessary identity, contact, routing, case and audit information. Local compression does not report analytics events, compression records or purchase records.

10. Sharing, Transfer, and Disclosure

  1. We do not sell personal information.
  2. We do not share personal information for advertising or analytics; image-review provider processing is described on this page.
  3. When you actively use system sharing or feedback email, the system or third-party app you choose processes the content you share according to its own rules.
  4. If the developer identity changes, or if a service transfer or asset transfer occurs, we will require the new holder to continue complying with this Policy.
  5. We will not publicly disclose your personal information unless required by laws, regulators, judicial authorities, or administrative authorities.

11. Your Rights

You may request access, correction, supplementation, deletion of feedback/contact records, withdrawal of non-essential consent, or explanation of our processing rules by contacting us at:

12. Minors

Users under the age of 14 should use the app with guardian consent and guidance. If a guardian finds that a minor has provided personal information without consent, please contact us and we will handle it according to applicable laws.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information security and prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, use, modification, damage, or loss. However, no internet environment is absolutely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Policy based on laws, product features, third-party services, or operations. For material changes, we will notify you in the app or by reasonable means. If you do not agree, you may stop using related features or the app.
